Warning for all watching: THE STORY HERE IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THE GAME. It's basically 100% anime original. Nearly everything is changed, including Momoko and Mifuyu dying which DIDN'T HAPPEN in the game.

To be honest, you are probably better off watching the game play through on YouTube than watching the anime. And i'm saying this with great sadnes, as someone who was really looking forward to the final episodes. But guess Shaft either didn't have enough time or enough motivation to work on the finale.

The result is that the finale basically negates everything that happened in the game AND everything that happened in earlier episodes :/

From what I've seen, the Arc ending basically returns everything to status quo, aka Kyubey wins and witch system is back.

oh... I barely remember last season ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡(〃ω〃)

All four episodes honestly feel like a Magia Record movie more so than a final season. It's exciting, enlightening, tragic and features some of the best visuals of the series. Shaft poured their hearts and souls into this series and you can see that in every frame. Granted the series isn't perfect as some moments felt too long or not long enough and the characters and story aren't as memorable as the first time around. But as far as spin-offs go, I do think it's a worthy addition to the world of Madoka Magica!

Even if their plan ultimately failed, I respect those girls for actually doing research and thinking things through first. They didn't just blindly dive head-first into becoming a magical girl, like every other character did.

Also, Alina's way of speaking is incredibly annoying.

This whole season was a mess, a complete mess.

I only really enjoyed the first episode of this final season, where they somewhat stuck to the game's story about Ui, Touka, and Nemu's backstory on becoming magical girls.. As I watched the other episodes, it felt worse and worse. As if they compacted an entire season of pain and suffering into 3 more episodes. 😭😂 It felt like we were jumping from one person's plot to another. The anime tried really hard to be "different" from the game and appear more "dark", to please all those people who were hating on this show since the game isn't as dark as Madoka Magica. The end result: this whole season is so so SO messy. Each scene was shoved in your face and then -onto the next!!!- All those doppels being saved by Momoko & Mifuyu, then onto Kuroe giving up and becoming a Witch, then stopping Touka and Nemu, then Alina's grand plot! We weren't given time to process what was happening and even see the other characters grieve the losses.

Also, I cannot believe they ended up having Touka and Nemu being sacrificed in the end! Along with Ui, it seems. Why did they diverge from the game in this? Where is our grand Ui-Iroha reunion? Touka and Nemu were supposed to listen to Iroha and save Ui from Embryo Eve, and finally reunite at Uwasa of Eternal Sakura. They really should have just left Nemu without her memories, instead of that stupid excuse where even while she remembers, she goes on with the plan.

I really really hate this ending because of this. And also the mess that was left behind. They really pushed the notion of "we can save you from becoming witches", only to completely diverge from that at the end. The barrier breaks. There's no automatic purification system (unless I missed it). They introduced so much, and we did not get closure at the end. What the heck was the deal with Iroha gaining Ui's ability, it DOES NOT make sense? Final battle felt so underwhelming, despite it looking pretty (Iroha hugging Alina). I wanted to see all the girls fight. Not just Iroha collecting their magic. I wanted Walpurgisnacht! I wanted Ui to be released from the giant gem on Embryo Eve!

I feel so disappointed, I really really loved this anime as it started, despite the hate it got, and even when it progressed to what we got in S2. Then this compressed, final season comes out and completely makes a mess of everything. I really hate what we got. 😭

Then again I feel so conflicted. Since I cried a lot with most of the scenes, especially with Kuroe's witchification and death, all the other girls' sacrifices, Mifuyu and Momoko, and Nemu and Touka. Also Ui 😭 They really did a good job on the despair. 😭

It was interesting to see Kyuubey answer all those question to them, he always simplified the answer.

I expected to remember nothing from 6 months ago but instead I never understood the story more than right now.

Touka and Nemu are WAY too smart for young children. And then there's Ui, who's just a regular little girl. XD

I still remember the huge cancer this game did.

...and it looks like Aniplex didn't learn much from Magia Record NA and is doing exactly the same things in Twisted Wonderland.

That said, Magia Record JP is much, much healthier since devs at least treat us with respect.

God dammit, this is the wrong episode. Someone put episode 2 as episode 1. I thought I'd missed some extra special or something that explained all the Ui stuff, but this is just out of order.

It's been fixed now. All of the episodes are in proper order.

Finally the first magical girls who asked questions before agreeing for the Contact altho Damn their plan could have worked but unfortunately it didn't tho. It's sad how the trio wanted to save Iroha from the tragic destiny of being a magical girl but instead one turned into a villain and the other was forgotten and Nemu being nemu I guess? I mean tbh she carried this episode, she's a genius I feel bad that she's the only one who remembers Ui and the promise they made tg. Reminds me of homura situation.

Can't they just wished that magical girls and the witches girl never existed. The last one is curing the diseases they suffering? They could just straight up stole Incubator's power to make wishes even

Well Madoka did something similar to that and she became a construct that takes magical girls suffering before they become witches. So if they wished magical girls never existed there's a good chance the wish would go awry and actually remove all magical girls and witches; Rather than taking away the moment they made their wish that turned them into a magical girl.

It was Madoka. Iroha wished from the start to heal UI after she went into critical condition.

I don't think I've found another anime that makes overly long exposition seem interesting.

The monogatari franchise is the best series in terms of well-written and entertaining dialogue, in my opinion.
